About
The site that reads the small print on opening offers
Opening Bet exists because welcome offers are genuinely valuable and systematically misunderstood. We find the good ones from vetted bookmakers and explain what they actually pay.
What we do
We track new-customer offers from bookmakers we’ve vetted for real licences and clean payout records, and we translate their terms into plain English: the wagering, the minimum odds, the clock, the clauses. We are not a bookmaker, we take no bets, and we hold no player funds.
How this site is funded
Opening Bet is funded by affiliate commissions. When you open an account with a bookmaker through one of our links, that bookmaker pays us a commission. It costs you nothing extra.
Three rules keep that honest. Commissions never buy a placement: a book that fails our licence or payout checks isn’t listed at any price. We mark affiliate links with a disclosure on every page that carries them. And we describe offers by their real terms, not their headline numbers, even when the honest description makes an offer we profit from look worse.
Editorial rules
Offer details are checked against the bookmaker’s own published terms at the time of writing and dated. Terms change constantly in this business; when we haven’t re-verified something recently, the page says so. We never copy bookmaker marketing into our own voice, and every offer page says who the offer is wrong for, not just who it suits.
